Savannah River Landing

Downtown is growing along the river. Site clearing is under way for the $800 million mixed-use project that will extend the area’s commercial and residential footprint. You sometimes hear horror stories about new developments these days. Take a few minutes and look over the new website and see how much passion is going in the preservation effort.

Some of the highlights of the project:savannah_river_landing.jpg

- Estimated 850 residential units, including riverfront estate homes, condos, and townhomes

- Extension of the Savannah Riverwalk by an estimated 2,000 feet

- Pedestrian-friendly with parks and sidewalks throughout the 54 acres - 6 new city squares

- 11 blocks of single-family townhomes, 5-Star Hotel and Spa, office and retail space

It will be interesting to see how the master plan is executed, but you have to appreciate a developer who has the vision to do it right. Oglethorpe would be proud. I’ll keep you current on the project with construction photos as the project goes vertical.

The virtual tour is well worth the download.
